Mistakes

I watch the news today and see that someone who is a prominent spokesperson made a glaring error, and in that error he insulted the victims that represent the horror of the second world war. It was a ridiculous thoughtless error and the whole world has responded with rage and condemnation.

Imagine having that amount of negative energy coming at you for a mistake, even if you are supposed to be a professional able to withstand the criticism. Who of us have not made stupid ill informed blunders. I know how difficult it can be to withstand negative energy coming at me for something I did that was spontaneous and ill thought. It doesn’t matter how professional I am , I am also human and that energy hurts. It does go in and if I don’t learn how to deal with it, it will fester and wear me down.

I am not a fan of the man who made the mistake but I have compassion for him in the response he is getting.. I do. Haven’t we all said something really dumb at times? Can you imagine being on the receiving end of all the public shaming he is getting? I do hope this concentrated condemnation of him ends soon. The mistake was nothing compared to the blatant lies and corruption going on in the world that is being completely ignored.

Mistakes are just that, mistakes. Apologies are there to repair them. I hope the world allows repair to happen for all our sakes., because without the allowance of repair everyone looses.
